Short Term Residential Retreats
For those interested in engaging in short-term residential meditation retreat, accommodation is available within the residential area of the center. Spiritual guidance is also available for those seeking a more formalized, systematic approach. To maintain the sanctity of our residence, retreatants are asked to abide by the traditional Buddhist precepts of not taking the lives of beings (killing), not taking that which is not offered (stealing), avoiding sensual misconduct, not engaging in false or damaging speech, and not abusing substances causing intoxication and heedlessness.
Buddhist Weddings
Nyima Tashi is also available to those wishing to integrate the practice of the 5 paramitas into their wedding nuptials, awareness of the coming together of two spiritual friends, whose love may contribute to the cultivation of compassion and wisdom between themselves, and for the benefit of friends, families, and society. Within a marriage, we need to help balance each other. And there is also one invisible force of profound importance in a marriage – the energy (prana) which moves through everything. The life force of a marriage is loving-kindness and compassion. “For love to last, it is better not to have too many expectations. It is better just to offer love.” (Karmapa) The Buddhist wedding ceremony unfolds as a beautiful and tender dedication to each other and to all sentient beings, through the development of the six Buddhist paramitas or “perfections,” of generosity, discipline, patience, exertion, meditation and prajna (wisdom).

An excellent experience and great value in a central Auckland location.
Facilities were warm and very comfortable and we were made to feel very welcome. The location is superb being located pretty much in the middle of Auckland. Everything is very accessible. The library of books is very interesting...well the books are actually on sale....and there is a great collection of thought provoking reading here. The shared facilities are superb!
We have nothing to not like here. The hosts are really friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.

A rate gem, serene oasis fir a traveler with easy access to public transportation.
This is my idea of heaven. An actual Buddhist center, so peaceful and lovely. It is beautiful, inside and out. Such a serene oasis after a long day exploring Auckland. There is food by donation. I ate fruit, yogurt, toast and coffee for breakfast and, sometimes, ramen for dinner. There is no curfew. The metro/train is only a few blocks away. I only wish I could give it a higher rating. It is hard to believe that I was able to book this through Booking.com. A rare gem.
It was perfect.
